Christians are people who need pretty stories to make them feel better about death. By following the Bible, they can delude themselves into thinking they can be as evil as they want in this life because in the next life God will give them everything they want.
Any more fundamentalist Christians are no better than fundamentalist Muslims. The use a book written by old men 4000 years ago to justify their actions so they don't have to think for themselves. Instead of listening to their conscience they are more inclined to pay pastors and priests to think for them.
The book of the Bible that they love to quote to say homosexuality is a sin, Leviticus, is the same book that slave owners used 150+ years ago to justify keeping Africans in chains. And sadly today the ancestors of those Africans are using that same book against gays.
Says something about Christian's doesn't it?
Religion by its very nature is exclusive. To have a religion, you have to have faith that your beliefs are better than everyone else's. This gives you a frame of reference. How can you know how good your religion is if you don't have heathens around that you can demonize? Can you think of one religion that doesn't exclude someone? There isn't a one.
Religion, the opiate of the masses. Give them that old time religion and they will ignore what the government does to them. They will just pray that everything will get better, if not now, when they go to Heaven.

Honey, I don't know. I've tried and tried and tried again to make sense of it, prove a point, get some answers, and all I got was religious back talk, trash and junk about how I was a sinner and I was going to hell. They can't seem to accept the fact that what they believe and what we believe are two different things. Maybe it's a disorder, or chemical imbalance of the brain, I don't know.
You keep laughing, sugar. God doesn't make any mistakes.

I agree with you! not everyone belives in the bible and not everyone has the same religion so using the bible to make an argument that homosexuality is wrong it's useless! Besides God didn't write the bible NO PROOF so how do people know that God does not approve of it? I believe in a God that created us the way he wanted us to be! so don't listen to them Honey God loves you the way you are!

I believe there is some verse in the bible that tells them it is their responsbility to 'spread the word of God". Trouble is, they dont know God's words from the word's of men who twisted it around to fit their personal opinion. God would never condemn anyone for loving another human being. I am gay. I have read (and am currently re-reading the bible).
Nothing in the bible talks about homosexuality in the absence of other things such as prmosicuity, prostituion, adultery and rape. And there is even less suport for the opposition of lesbianism as most references are to gay men...but still in the presence of the above mentioned things that are considerred morally wrong regradless of sexuality.
And to the person who said "does it make sense? The purpose of sex is to create life and...blah blah" I am going to assume that you have never had sex without the intention of creating life? Doubtful..sex is to bring two people closer together and mentally, physically, spiritually. It has great medical benefits when it is satisfying. Procreation is one purpose of it, but I think more people do it for the pleasure. Straight, gay, bisexual etc etc.

Because they want to shore up their little shaky beliefs by telling you that you are going to hell for being gay. Sometimes, science makes a little sense to them and the Bible doesn't and it scares them so they have to balance themselves. How better to balance ones esteem and mind than to tell someone else that if they don't believe in a book written 2,000 years ago, and take everything on faith, then they're going to hell.
They'd like to think they are being altruistic and helpful but they aren't. They're just being jackasses but unfortunately they outnumber sane people so you'll just have to live your whole life with such people. Sigh.

the bible doesnt say to hate gay people, it just says a man sleeping with another man, or a woman sleeping with another woman is an abomination. plus think about it, even if u dont beleive in god, does being gay make sense? what is the purpose of sex? to create new life. can 2 men make new life? how bout 2 women? i dont think so.

Because they believe in a 2000 year old storybook written by men (NOT GOD) and then pick and choose what they want to believe out of it. It's ok for them to hate gays but doesn't the Bible teach you to love your fellow man??? Hypocrites

The genuinely decent ones - because they want to save us (bless'em) and believe that God wouldn't want us to know intimate love on this plane of existence.
The more arrogant judgmental ones - because they are ignorant of the teachings of Christ.
