A loss of creative inspiration is often related to a loss of interest in life. Have you been under any unusual stress lately regarding family or other relationships, or work? If none of the above applies, perhaps you're bored with the hum-drum routine of everyday life. Try breaking some old habits and do something extraordinary. Also, stop writing poetry for a while and READ some good classical poetry. That can be very inspiring. Hope this helps. Good luck from a fellow writer.

The best place to find inspiration is from your own emotions, if you're feeling empty there, try looking for inspiring lines in tv, literature, music, or other sources. Just try to tell a story. Not all poetry has to make sense either. If you're having trouble writing in your usual style, try a new style like lyrical poetry or a type of poetry based in the individual sound of words. Stop trying to make sense and just write down whatever feels right. Don't feel like you have to write a whole poem at once either, you can begin something and set it aside for later.

Move to the Mountain Regions of the USA or visit alot of strip joints. After that write your stuff on paper. Show your work to girls and see what they think. It's a good start cause once you find what the ladies want, their is no stopping you.

Poetry is everywhere
It's in the way you comb your hair,
In the birds in the air,
In the cracks in the middle of the street.

Poetry, you can't deny,
Is in the way a baby cries,
In the birds in the sky,
In the rain as it hits the concrete.

It's a Universe - in verse.

Sorry, Babe,
I can't force myself to good writing of fiction or poetry either. Either I've got it or I don't.
I can make myself write great non-fiction though...

Where to find the inspiration? From within! But no matter what you do, don't write any poems about... butterflies...gah!

Look back at what you wrote--- how were you feeling when you wrote them? your state of mind? your situation and circumstances?

If your stuck try to recapture the mood you were in or seek out new experiences to elicit a new muse.

look at yourself completely. start on the outside i.e. where you live, literally, and work your way in through your heritage and in to your feelings.
