In a lot of my questions Americans believe there country is the most generous when giving foreign aid. Well, you are wrong, You do give more than any other country , granted, however you are one of the smallest donaters of money in comparison with your countries wealth turnover, way behind UK, Germany, France, Japan and many more. So why do yanks insist they are some kind of world heros.

Do you have any data, or are you just another stringed puppet that hates America?

Our damned military is your aid, Europissant. You couldn't even take care of KOSOVO, handout whores.

If the Fundamentalist Muslims invade Europe, don't call on the US military to help, you coward. Oh, they already have.. 'DOH

Americans are generous with foreign aid.......I don't think they insist they do.......they just do......how many countries helped the USA after the devestation of Katrina..some countries are all take and some are all give......the US gives to so many.....and also helps their own, which is a lot more than I can say for some countries whose Human Rights leave a lot to be desired....they take the aid dollars to build up their armies so they can bite the hand that feeds them and their citizens never get any aid.and, no I am not an American

You answered your own question. The US gives almost twice as much to the international community as 2nd ranked Japan; the UK, Germany & France aren't even close. The most is the most; I don't care how you break it down. Someone has to be #1. I'm glad it's my country. You would feel the same if your country were the big spender.

I for stopping all of it as it is being handled now. Humanitarian aid has been very ineffective, this is because plan's have not been made from the ground up but from top down. As described by William Easterly (ex-UN member), the (third world) countries that have made the most progress, are those that were never successfully colonized.

Is this another one of those "my dick is bigger than yours" debates. Get over it Europe, your time was here and gone. Soon your inability to procreate will lead to the colonization of your countries by the immigrants hoards and that will be the end of the debate.

While it is true that many Americans truly are generous folk with a deep concern for others and a desire to help and share the wealth at their disposal, it is also true that the rich, greedy b@stards that are in power ¨grant aid¨ in order to keep other countries in our debt so we can manipulate them, build military installations on their shores, take advantage of resources in their possession, etc. These are the ones who love to point out how generous we are. The truly generous are generally quiet about it, because they only see helping others as their civic duty, responsiblity as members of the human race, religious duty, or other such thing.

I also question the fact that they let their own people, even little babies die out on the street, rather than give even a spare dollar or something that would help....

You know how many SAY they would compared to how many that DO? Big difference! My guess is 80% Say, 8% do. But hey I could be wrong! But it seems like that.

Most ignore their country's own needs to help other countries because they think it makes them look "generous" to the world.

Why do you feel like you have to attack America in every single way? Are you that jealous of us?
Also why not check out the facts and look at how much we give compared to other countries. Also if we don't do anything in this world, you guys won't because most countries now a days are nothing but *******.

You're lumping us all into one category. Americans are highly individualistic. In you're country maybe you all think like a colony of ants, in unison, but the way you've framed your question is completely ignorant. I'm sure you can find a million people here that agree with you, 50 million more that think you're wrong, and 20 million more that think you're an a$$. "Americans" don't think that - but I sure some individual Americans do.
P.S. - Come visit us and find out for yourself. Then you won't have to make such vague assumptions.

Percentage wise, we may not be the most generous, but we do give a lot. Not just monetarily, either. We are usually one of the first nations to send man power to disaster areas. You also have to remember that America is much larger, population wise, than all of the countries you listed, so the numbers are skewed.

I don't know anyone that insists they are a world hero. Most people I know don't give a damn about foreign aid and would rather have lower taxes. I don't know who you've seen that carries that attitude...I hope you aren't taking this in from celebrities or public personas, they do not represent America's attitudes and opinions very well.

On one hand, you are right. We do give less of our GNP than many other countries. But the small percent of our GNP that we do give is more than double the next highest country in raw dollars. We are still doing more in the world than any other country when it comes to foreign aid.
