People are crazy for it and looking forward to it, and yet it always has been unfair, sometimes even dirty.
Why it is like this?

You are absolutely correct ~ though it's such a craze, it will always be unfair not because people want it this way but because players do everything is their ability (I mean everything ~ sometimes fouling, play-acting, time wasting, diving etc) to win the game ~ Sometimes the refs are even a little biased (by little, I mean they will award all the 50-50 fouls) to the home teams as they are under pressure from the Home crowd and other influences and this is all beyond our (spectator's controls) so the only thing we can do ~ Just enjoy the Game as it is because Overall, it's the greatest Game in the World for us ~ Soccer Fans.

There's always been an unfair play sometimes. It is because soccer is a game, and we are only human who play the game and want it so badly to win, that makes us (sometimes or almost??) do "tricky or dirty thing" in order to reach our goals.
Everyone likes to win, right?

Not really. The French deserved to loose. They actually should of never gotten that first point today - on close up he wasn't even touched in the penalty box. So, yes it is fair. Italians win thankfully and the French can eat cheese and cry with Zinedine who thought he was a bull for a moment.
