You know that diet coke and mentos thing?

There are some videos on the internet showing people throwing 2 liter bottles of coke on the ground and they go flying up into the air. I know it involves coke and mentos, but can someone tell me in detail how to do it?

drill a little hole in the cap of the battle (its ok if you take the cap off) you will need to pour a little out (pour it ) and then drill hole in the mentos (5 works best) and then take a string and tie a nkow ant slide it through all the menots and then put in the the cap and let go and watch. the small er the hole the longer it will last

you get a 2 liter bottle of coke and about 4 mentos. You can put a tiny hole in the top of the coke cap and holes through the mentos and put the cap back on and then drop the mentos into the coke. Or you can just drop about 4 mentos into the bottle of coke.The first way will make it shoot up higher.

Contrary to what Elizabeth E says, diet doesn't work better, it's just preferred because the lack of sugar will cause the resultant explosion to not be (as) sticky. The Mentos may cause some stickiness.

It is true. There is an ingredient in Mentos that, when combined with the Diet Cola (or regular cola as well, I think) expends all of the carbon dioxide stored in the soda. This creates a giant fountain of foaming soda.

My brother demonstrated this on the 4th of July with a box of Mentos and a 2-liter bottle of generic diet cola.

The biggest trick is getting as many Mentos in at one time, before the eruption occurs, for the more Mentos go in, the larger the reaction is.

Buy a 2 liter bottle of diet pepsi (diet works better), and buy a roll of mentos, the original white ones. Gather ten of the mentos and fashion a way to get them to all fall in the bottle, step back and watch the explosion. I have done it twice.

open your package of mentos and either be real careful with the package or make a straight funnel with paper to put the mentos in
put an index card over the top of the bottle and then put your mentos - in the package or funnel over the index card over the opening of hte bottle.
