its mild poison! can kill plants and ruin water supplies.
Acid rain occurs when sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are emitted into the atmosphere, undergo chemical transformations and are absorbed by water droplets in clouds.

Depends on the level of acidity and the plant. Some plants discolor, some plants die, some plants thrive. Ever notice plants in the highway median? They're constantly bombarded by a chemical haze due to pollution and they do very well... Plants are natural scrubbers of some of the environmental hazards that would kill or sicken people.

At first it doesnt.
What suffers first is the soil which the plant grew in.
As soon as the mineral consitancy and the bacteria/fungi get effected and start to change the plant falls into a state of "shock"
- its like digging it out and placing it elsewhere.
The leafes change color like in autumn and eventually fall off.
And if the "new" soil is not right for the plant it doesnt recover and dies off...
