i am running win98se,i installed 2 hds,2 gigs each,they are both partitioned,and they are both fat,i would like to convert 1hd to fat32 and keep the other as fat, can i convert one and not the other.

yes but why? fat 32 is better on both drives. it will be slower when your on fat16 . i would run both drives fat 32 you have more space on fat32 also. i have 98se on 7 other computers all are running fat 32 ,2 are running 80 gig seagates .

Unless you are posting from the year 1999, get rid rid of that wretched OS as soon as possible.

The answer is yes you can keep one as fat and convert the other with the disk converter utility.

Yes, but if you are doing this in order to get rid of the partitions on one of the drives, you would have to reformat all the partitions on that drive into a single partition. That means you would lose all the data on the drive. So be sure you back everything up before do that.

Yes. Windows 98 can read FAT32.

yes just use the fat32 utility and select the HD you want
