no they wont coz t-mac and yao will make their own place in basketball history... yao and t-mac may not be as big as the other two right now but they have a chance to be as good if not better... i feel yao is just getting into peak form and will eventually replace shaq as the most dominant big in the game... he hasnt reached his full potential yet and there's room for improvement(he can start by improving his conditioning)... t-mac had a dissapointing campaign last year but if he can come back strong and more mature then i think he'll become explosive again... if both of them find a way to stay healthy then they'll surely be unstoppable, unguardable, and they dont need two ego-maniacs like shaq and kobe to be role-models...

peace...

i'm out like the rockets last season...

I think they could be.

Near the end of the season Yao went on an absolute rampage. I dont know why people are saying he hasn't proven himself. He went like 20 games averaging something like 30 points 12 boards. I even remember one player saying that Yao was playing like Shaq in his prime.

And T-Mac is one of the elite players in the league. And no, he won't score 81 points. But that's because he actually has a teammate in Yao that can score. And nobody can say T-Mac isn't as good a scorer as Kobe. Remember when he dropped 13 points in 35 seconds?

T-Mac and Yao could definately be a dominant duo, but we haven't really seen them play. When one of them isn't injured, the other one is. Hopefully we should be able to see them in action this year.

absolutely not- they both draw alot of double teams and open up shots for teammates, and can both score at will... but kobe and shaq worked off each others talents- shaq is a much better passer than he is given credit for and obviously draws probably the most double teams in the nba..they opened up shots for each other- With Houston, they are great players but Yao isn't a guy who can make moves and open up too many looks for teamates like shaquille did. If Yao learns to find the open man when he gets doubled, and can learn to become familiar with how T-Mac cuts to the basket then they will be just as good- but it will take them time

Shaq and Kobe we are a dynasty and between the perfect a million-2 punch in NBA historic previous. totaled 4 nba finals and received 3 championships. Kobe and Shaq is a better physically powerful duo over-all. T-mac and Yao can't even get bypass 1st round.

Well, they might be in the future, but not now. McGrady doesn\t stand up to a Kobe but Yao might be a shaq. he just needs to get more aggresive. He cant be known as the gentle giant forever. I would say not for another 2 seasons, giving that they still play with each other.

Nope. I know T-Mac was injured this past season and I believe he'll come back strong, but Yao has been a real disappointment. The whole team has really underachieved this past season...I really thought they'd be facing the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals...I was wrong on both. Yao is a bust...or maybe he belongs in a circus.

If they are the next, they ought to start winning some. Due to injuries and other things the Rockets haven't made too much noise out West. I expected them to make some noise this year, and they didn't. I still expect them to do it this year, cause Yao is starting to get a groove going for the league, and TMac has just got to learn to play his game. I think TMac may have reached his peak already as an offensive player, but that doesn't mean he's still not good, and has the "POTENTIAL" to win a championship. Overall, the team needs defense, period, the team works on D, I think they got the offensive talent to make some noise.

nope Yao will never be that dominate player Shaq is. Plus can any current playen even come close to Kobe, I mean he did score 81 points in one game.

No they won't come close they won't even be together that long. Yao I believe wants to win but lacks that killer instinct and Tracey can score but disappears at times mentally and physically. At first when they got together I thought finally T-Mac has help but it's not working out.

No Yao doesn't have the spirit to want to take over the whole game...
