Rabbits bite, I own two. You need to have him fixed, once the testesterone has left his system he will stop biting. I am having mine fixed as soon as they are old enough for this reason. Man do I have scars from my pet bunnies when I was a kid. They really are lovely pets, mine are well behaved and run loose in the house most of the day, my baseboards are the only thing that has suffered. I love to watch them hop around and play games, mine will hop next to me on the couch and watch TV. YOu should really let him out more, and a large dog kennel works better than a small cage. With no exercise and play I would be pissed off too.

Is he newered? His teeth could be hurting him or you are picking him up wrong or he does not like being handled especially if he is an older rabbit or you do not handle him much. When you are holding him put him in your lap with his back to your stomach and feel above and below his jaw line if he jerks away or you feel any swelling it is probably his teeth and check his front teeth they might be to long. Or if he has been in a cage with other rabbits they could of fought and he is hurt. You can't put two un netured males together they will fight and try to neture each other that is why you keep your bucks seperate and away from the female rabbit cages all together.

There could be many reasons. Male rabbits are very dominant. It could also be fear related. Did you just get the bunny? Plus, rabbits are ground dwellers, therefore, they don't enjoy being held that much. Maybe try to pet him while he's on the ground.

I had a rabbit that would sometimes bite if she was overexcited, or I had some food odor on my hands... Bunnies become more lovable when they get used to being handled. Maybe he isn't handled often?
They also startle easily. Good luck.

Rabbits don't like to be held. Because they are prey animals they associate being lifted with being attacked. To get him to stop biting you, when he does bite you should make a high pitched EEEEEE noise. I know it sounds dumb but it works. It works because other rabbits make that same noise when they are in pain.

Rabbit is not an animal which likes to be hold. If you want to hold it, than take its ear and hold below back. Do not hug it.
Rabbit always think you are a carrot for them.

You might be handling him in a position that he doesn't like. Try holding him in your lap and gently petting him, or hold him in your arms, but don't smother or squeeze him too hard. Maybe offer him a carrot if he stays calm for a while and talk to him gently, praising him. I hope this helps! Animal Amber

He might bite because his teeth are naturally too long, and you solve it by putting a piece of wood in his cage! It worked for my rabbits~~
