Most of the schools in many counties teach English. Why? You can write this problem as an essay.

I think it is a combination of the fact that English has a wider technical vocabulary than most other languages, the fact that there are more technical books written in English than any other language, and the fact that America does business with many countries.

English has become a universal language in the last decades. Most books and handouts are written in English. Almost all of the web sites in Internet are in English, so this language is becoming most people second language for communication with people around the world. It is like a Lingua Franca for the ones who do not speak English as their mother tongue, and have to share information and express their thoughts, feelings and ideas. Can you imagine A French doctor in a hospital in France trying to know if a Brazilian patient is allergic to a specific medicine? Just think about it.

Enlish is the liguafranca of the world. More over The English ruled almost over the entire world at some point of time or other. It is said that the sun never set in the English Empire. No wonder the Britishers succeded in teaching their language to all natives of thsir empire. All said and done what is wrong in learning a language?

You shouldn't stop at English. English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Russian, as well as Chinese are all very important languages depending on your area of expertise and where you live. The business world pretty much has the requirement of a foreign language: if you're entering business from any other country outside of the US: you're going to want to learn English or Chinese.

It is an necessary evil, we need a general language so people from different countries can interact with each other and communicate...many people are complaining about english...but if it wasnt english then it would be another language...i just feel it is practical.
I have many friends from different countries, and we wouldnt be able to have this friendship if it wasnt for english.

Regardless of what you may read elsewhere, the truth is that Americans do a lot of business with other countries, and Americans are too lazy to learn other languages, so other countries have to learn ours.
