sounds weird I know but get an empty bottle put it on the floor and roll your feet over it a dozen or so times before going to bed as this seems to be the worst time it worked for me with both of my pregnancies

Not sure you can "prevent" it, and you may be in labor. Time those "cramps", and if they are consistenly 5 minutes apart, you are probably in labor. If the cramp you are talking about is very low and on one side, kind of under your belly, it is the ligament that connects to your uterus and it is being stretched. Hurts like a mother...and I know for sure there isn't anything you can do about those, but try not to make any sudden movements with your body to give the ligaments a chance to stretch.

if you mean leg cramps something i got all the time when i was in the late stages of pregnancey my dr told me to pull my toes towards leg and it always worked for me

i am 7 months pregnant and find the best way is to try and walk around maybe try a birthball it helps for backpain

do you mean abdominal cramping?
It's possible that you are experiencing braxton hicks contractions (or "false labor"). Have you spoken to your Dr about this?
