I think Italy put on a pityful display. Sure they won, but that win meant nothing to soccer. Im sure all the nuterals like myself would have thought France domnated the game and deserved to win. Also i dont think Italy should be at the WC at all seeing as how thy have been accused of buying referees and cheating in general. In the Tour de France for example, almost 30 cyclists were pulled out on drug allegations and it set an example to the whole cyling community. Same should have been done to Italy.

I agree with you. France played alot better than Italy did. They deserved to win. And Marco Materazzi had to say something really really nasty to Zinedine Zidane for him to act in such a way. In my eyes and heart France played really well and deserved to win. Italy was just lucky that they won during the penalty kicks.

OK, apparently you do not know a lot about the Italian soccer scandal, but it involved the club leadership not the members of this team. You cannot blame a whole soccer organization for the mistakes of a few. Italy dominated the first half of the game, while France dominated the second. Italy's defense was magnificent and prevented any goals. A shootout could have gone either way and historically favored france; Italy made the shots today. Be a good sport and congratulate a world class team.

You = Disgrace. Italy won and that is what it is all about. Do not tell me that the French never rigged a competition, oh that is right the Olympic ice skating. Oh yea. That never happened. Italy was the best team. Oh sure France showed up in the 2nd half, so what. The only goal they got in regulation time was a "Cheeky" penalty shot. It might have worked with Portugal, but not with Italy. Viva Italia!!

Italy won and thats that.
You can't be that truely of a disgrace if you beat a team like France.
They had an equal shot. There was just a mistake in one of France's penalty kicks. Kind of Luck and Chance. But Italy tried hard, so give them a little respect or at least acknowledge the fact they won!

You're being silly, sorry to say. Italy played fairly well and quite deserved the victory. especially after algerian "Zizou's" wonderful show-off, which should earn him a prohibition of playing for the rest of his life, the French coach kicking bottles and getting no card and some yellow cards missed by the referee. The French exhibition was simply disgusting and it would have been totally unfair if the arrogant French team had won! Are you sure you're Italian? Hmm? Not French?

i personly respect both italy and france, my sister bet money that italy was going to win, i didnt think so i thought france was going to win because the had both Henry and Zidane. I was worng but the refs were fare if you watched the world cup you would know that first goal that france got was because of a pently kick that the ref gave out if they were buying this ref he would have not done that. I really respect france but the shame is on them, Zidane should never have hit the guy in the chest and made him fall down so the shame is on france. if he didnt do that france would have scored in the penltys and France would now be the champions but they lost thier best pently kicer Zidane.

I really agree France dominated the whole game and deserved to win. I don't know if you saw it but Italy fouled in their box. the guy slid tackled from behind. it should have been a pk and a yellow card. but no call. the reff was on Italy's side. and they are a bunch of sissys anyway. France is the better team but i am disappointed in Zinane.

Actually, they haven't JUST been accused of buying referees, its now pretty much proven. Every General Manager has been replaced and up to $200 million dollars was made by the various players, managers and refs that way. The news said 50% of the players would go back to Italy without teams to go home too.

no, 1 moment, italy is not accused of buying noone.
some -(important) teams are accused, you can't say such a "big" accuse and not knowing nothing about the case.
the example with the tour the france doesn't fit! tht's not the same accuse, that's not the same sport.
we won because we are better than france, germany, australia, ukraina... that's a fact.
france dominated nothing because we hitted the wood and a goal was in outside.
GIVE US BACK THE "GIOCONDA" :-)

Your just a sour loser that France lost. Italy played better and they deserved to win. And plus France got lucky with their penalty kicks.
