yeah, you install iTunes onto your computer (it comes w/ the iPod) and then if you're downloading from a CD put the CD into the CD drive, select the songs you want on your iPod by adding them to your iTunes Library or a Playlist, and then hit the "Update iPod" command. you can also buy songs off iTunes, most are $.99 each and then you do the same thing, only minus the CD. hope this helps!

You don't need an Apple computer, any PC that has Windows 2000 or higher is OK. Use the iTunes CD that came with your iPod. Load the software onto your computer, then go File/ Add Folder to add whatever music you have on computer to the iTunes library.

Once you have songs in your library, connect your iPod to the computer with the cable that came with the iPod (unless it's an iPod shuffle in which case just plug it directly into the USB port).
Click File/ Update iPod and the songs will transfer to the iPod and your on your way!

i have a pc. not an apple. and i have 2500 songs on my ipod. i use itunes, its easiest. to download, i use limewire. then go into itunes (as someone said, it comes with the ipod) and add files into your 'library'. also, i do manual updates. what that means is i choose when the songs get put onto my ipod. you have to drag and drop your songs onto the ipod, but it gives u the control. if you have any other questions, feel free to email me. im an ipod/itunes addict :)
