Yes-especially reasoning.
I also we should be able to grade them on how well they are doing representing the people regularly. Too many failures and their out of a job.

Well, maybe there should also be a voter knowledge test, as those public officials are elected by voters! If the voters aren't smart enough to elect smart officials, whose fault is that?
Come on, not all public officials are stupid. They are human, just like the rest of us, and the majority of them I'm sure have our best interests at heart and are doing their best. There will always be a few who make the rest of them look bad. In addition, they are under the microscope for everything they do, and their actions are consequently up for interpretation by someone that could be biased.
I'm not sure if you are asking this due to a person situation in your town that you have experienced. But in my experience with public officers, I find that most of them try to do the best that they can with what they have.

We have seen been many great leaders who could not pass such a test, but who had moral courage, persistence, and a code of ethics which enabled them to achieve things that many college graduated modern politicians cannot achieve. What we need is a character test, not a knowledge test!

Sure, why not.
Better yet, I think your testing idea should be applied to all voters. If you are not knowledgeable of the issues and the facts, your vote is diminished accordingly. It is only fair. People need to vote responsibly.

I guess your right, because though the public chooses our politicians which make them the dumb ones, they choose them not knowing very much about them. Its impossible to know abnout them when all you see is the stupid advertising. It should not be an IQ test though because that really doesnt determine how good of a leader you will be.

No, because I don't see any way to write an unbiased test that would be universally acceptable.
