It would be very complicated for me to find this out from my doctor. Because I would have to get a "procedure code" and call medicaid (stay on hold for a half an hour) just to ask. So I just wondered if anyone here knew.

Yes. It's a birth control device and they cover the doctor's fee including the cost of the supplies. The doctor's office should have the correct procedure codes in order to submit the claim.

It really depends on your state since they control their medicaid benefits, but I think most would cover it. I know medicaid covers this is KY because I majored in social work and I know medicaid, medicare, parenting laws and etc like the back of my hand. What state do you live in? Go to your states Health and Human Services website and go look for medicaid covered services, it should be there. Good luck!

I dont think that Medicaid would cover that, since it's not medically necessary. Im not sure, though. I do know that a few years ago when they had the Norplant birth control, a friend had it done and medicaid paid for it. Sorry I couldnt help more.

I get medical coupons and they covered my Mirena IUD. I don't see why not? Maybe they have a website you can go to.

I know it's worth looking into if you're not a premiscous person.

Otherwise you risk getting a serious infection.

yes it is a form of birth control. They rather pay for an IUD then for a live birth.

Our insurance doesn't cover birth control. I have used medicaid before and it seemed pretty "bare minimum" to me...I doubt they will.

If you are very at risk for another pregnancy, it does. I'm pretty sure your doctor has to recomend it though. You have to be in a monogomous relationship to get it
