Some women do spot during pregnancy, but the only way to determine whether it's jus t regular spotting or a sign of a more serious problem is to see your OB/ GYN.

I began spotting at about 4-5 wks during my last pregnancy. I found from others that I spoke to that some of the had similar problem. Thankfully I like to err on the side of caution & checked with my doc. They did a sonogram & found that "(my ) placenta was trying to detach itself from the uterus.

I was advised to rest & put my feet up as much as possible to help aleviate the problem.

I found this site w/ info re: detached placenta for your review: http://www.pennhealth.com/health_info/pregnancy/000127.htm

Congratulations !
Best wishes for a Safe & healthy Delivery

My doctor told me that spotting is never 'normal' while pregnant, but it doesn't always mean that the pregnancy will fail, or even that the fetus will suffer.

I spotted at weeks 10 and 14 of my pregnancy, and I'm now 19 weeks pregnant, and the baby is just fine

Yes I did when I was pregnant with my daughter for about the first 6 months, but you should tell your doctor because he/she may need to monitor the level of amniotic fluid around your baby. It's not that big of a deal, but i had to have an ultrasound every two weeks in my third trimester because my bleeding decreased the amount of fluid around the baby. And I had two deliver two weeks early. But 2 years later & I have a perfect little girl. Best of luck!

Ask your doctor. Brown spotting may be normal, but bright red spotting rarely is.

Yes, it is. As long as it is very light, any heavy bleeding is NOT. There have been women that have had bleeding throughout their entire pregnancy. Any bleeding you have though, you should ask your doctor just to be safe :)

No, spotting is never normal.

It may not necessarily be something to worry about, but it's not something to dismiss out of hand, either.

You should consult your OB/GYN.
