Filipinos are highly persevering. They can easily adapt to hard situations and make the most of it.
Filipinos are hardworking. They know the value of working hard so most of them are really commended well for what they do.
You can take a Filipino anywhere and see it be part of the new environment it got to be a part of but you can never take their being a Filipino from them. They are proud of their heritage, no matter how full of adversaries it had along the course of time.
Filipinos have a very happy outlook in life. No matter how cruel their sufferings are, they always know that they can laugh it off.
Filipinos are greatly familial, their families always come first in everything they do.
The Philippines society may have become a joke for the rest of world because of the kind of government it has and the way it is govern, but trust the Filipinos to turn the situation anyway around if and when they want to.

The Philippines is a beautiful country composed of more or less 7,000 islands with different exciting attractions and cultures. It is the only Christian country in Asia. English is widely spoken but Filipinos are patriotic so the national language is Pilipino. The Filipinos are hard working and very hospitable people.

my best friend is 1/4 Filipino and her grandfather from the Philippines, Lolo, lives here and he is so awesome. I did a project on the Philippines two years ago because of my friend, and they seem to be really really nice people with very good manners.
Lots of people have never even heard of the Philippines, and i love it when i hear something in pop culture about it, like on the tv or in the movies or something.
By the way, in case you didn't know the Philippines has a FEMALE prime minister, that's kickass. Aren't we supposed to be the greatest, most equal country with great and wonderful amounts of freedom......??? and we've never had a female president, and this island nation that most people don't even know of seem to know equality better than us.

have a very dear friend who is Filipino and I know it must have hurt him to see this question.
I have never noticed that most Americans discriminate against Filipinos. That is an over-generalization. There are always going to be people around to discriminate against any race. In fact, I see more discrimination on Yahoo Answers against Americans than any other nationality, race or group of people.
So, no, I don't hate Filipinos. They are no different to me than any one else. I decide whether I like every person I meet on an individual basis based on what type of person he/she is, not what race they are. If a person is moral, ethical, caring and loyal, that is what is important, not race or the color of skin.

Philippines is an archipelagic nation in Western Pacific. Iit is rated as the best beach in the world by numerous surveys, best discos in Asia, third best diving spots in the world, and has the third most modern city in Asia (Manila). It also has the most surreal mountain chains in Asia-Pacific, and has been reputed to be the best eco-adventure (mountain climbing, rock climbing, waterskiing, jetskiing, aquasports, whitewater rafting) destination in the world. It has about ten endemic mammal species (which cannot be said of the European continent).
The people are Austronesians, admixed to some degree with Spanish, Chinese, American, Indo-Pakistani, Arab, Japanese, and Koreans. The people are the best dancers and singers in Asia. Their culture is thoroughly Americanized, their language is English (there are four different varieties fo English in the Philippines), they listen to the latest American music, they shop in wide, huge malls (the third largest is in the Philippines), the go to work in tall skyscrapers, they eat in cafes, bars as well as American fastfoods, and they are the latest in Asian fashion. They have the most affluent lifestyle in Asia. Yuppies dressed in black coats with waxed hair go to work every weekdays while the hang-out in chic and trendy places in the metro. THey also have laptops with them. Students wearing colorful clothes and carrying MP3 players as well as IPods. The Spanish-Filipino elite speak Konyo English (bastardized conglomeration of English, Spanish, and Filipino) while the play golf and have the latest gadgets. That's the picture of Filipinos in Manila.
In short, the country is extremely beautiful (the most beautiful in the entire world), and the people are hot!

Filipinos sometimes have a harsh style of speech when they are speaking English. It comes out almost as if they are barking at you. Otherwise my experience is that they are a sweet and gentle people with a really good sense of humor.

I knew some Filipinos when I was a child. Their food was a little strange to me (all that rice and stuff) but I never had any other issues with them.
