Aveeno makes the best products for dry skin and they are recommended by Docotrs and commonly used in nursing homes because they work so well.

you want to avoid the chemicals as much as possible. One thing I started doing that is really helpful for me is right when I get out of the shower, while skin is still damp, use a natural oil or combination of oils on your skin. This will help sela in the moisture. I have used olive oil, grapessed oil and a few other oils. You don't have to worry about smelling like that all day as the scent dissipates rather quickly, but if you are you can always add a few drops of an essential oil that you like, such as vanilla bean or something. I also use cocoa butter and vitamin e on my hands every time I wash them- I started using this after a surgery to heal a scar and I noticed that my hands began to be a LOT softer and smoother so it is a daily must now. Aloe vera is very good for your skin also, I am told that aloe will help your skin absorb these oils better. Another thing- drink LOTS of water- very very good for your skin

Cocoa butter or baby oil. Some people (me) are allergic to cocoa butter though.

If it is dry and flaking on your face you might have seborrheic dermatosis in which case they have a prescription cream you can put on it called Vytone.
