I have had like right about 100 points to go for the last three weeks and I can't seem to make any head way. Do you think that the day will come?

Just curious

OMG, asking dumb questions cost you 5 points? WOW! What will they think of next? What do good questions cost you?

Did they just take away 25 points because I have asked 5 more questions within this question?

Just curious ~ You got two of the three points and like you I could really care less about the points. Cracks me up with people saying you are being stupid for asking this but thanks for the two points. How do they think that they are getting THEIR points. LOL ;) Stay kewl.

No, because everyone knows all the cool people stay at level 5.

I got in trouble from yahoo for saying thanks for the two points so I will never thank anyone again. They deleted my answer and my points as well and told me if I did that again they would lock my Email account and I use it for everything. So I had to make a new profile and make sure I have a new IP adress to. Now I have to start all over again. Can you believe that. I know I have said a lot of other things that was worse then thanks for two points. I have even said dirty words.

Good luck at getting points. and does it really matter if you have any points anyway? The goal is to get 5 points so you can ask questions not see how many points you can get. If everyone is in a race to get more points you can get their answers are not worth the worthless points they got for the dumb answer.

Use thought in your answers and ask some questions that you would like to know about even if you already know the answer. It is fun to see how the rest of the world sees things.

I bet they lock this account and delete this answer because I said the two points thing above lol. Lets see.. it is a test.

Firstly --- and this is for the others and not for you, APG because you know and understand Y!A as well as anyone in the world --- asking a question does not "cost" 5 points but 2 points, since you are going to get 3 back when you nominate a best answer.

Secondly, you know perfectly well that it is easy at any given time when you have decided to do so to get a few hundred points here. Answer a few questions, about 1/6 of them get awarded best answer, and I haven't even mentioned voting and giving people thumbs up. In other words, getting points is actually easy, but most of the people here might not appreciate how it has been difficult for you to stay below level 6 given the fact that other people can give you best answers and thumbs up.

So the obvious conclusion is that you have chosen to stay just below level 6. Here I will be presumptuous and venture some reasons. Firstly, the very sad business a couple of weeks ago (and your road trip) made you think of things other than Q&A. Secondly, your staying at level 5 and managing to hover just below the critical point has been a sort of game for you. Since you are APG, I could use an aviation analogy of a helicopter pilot exercising and having fun while hovering within a very tight three-dimensional space for an extended period. Thirdly, and here I am speculating about your psychological issues, you might be happy right at the top of level 5 rather than move into 6 at the bottom with that feeling of having to struggle to accumulate points and/or dealing with that horrible message of theirs on your Y!A home page that tells you how many thousands of points you are away from your next level.

Speaking personally, I couldn't give 2 hoots (anymore) about what level I am on, and whether I am as much as (or only) x thousand points to level 5. Just for fun, you might like to know that I actually thought of asking a question here a few days ago about why you were not at level 6. But then I decided that it was too personal for me to ask publicly and in any case, as you can guess, for every 30-40 questions (100??) I think of asking, I only end up asking one. Since I attempted to be your analyst, I wonder whether you might not enjoy being my psychotherapist and help me understand what it is about me and asking questions. I think of many of them but in the end do not post them because of my assumption that they would be useless, boring, not funny etc, and that no-one here would be that interested in me and my questions anyway.

well i got a couple hundred to go to get to level 4. Just keep on answering questions,do rates ,vote and you will get there some day! Also if you have the best answer for a question you answered you get 10 points so just keep it up, it will get to you eventually! good luck! It takes a while to get to even the 4th level cause iam on the third and i still got some to go! It takes time unless your online all the time then you can answer probably alot more!

How will you learn if you do not ask questions! Forget level 6 you will not feel any different than at level 5! No question is a dumb question. Asking is more fun anyway!

If I'm bored and there's nothing good on TV, I'll spend some time answering questions. I just made level 6 about 10 minutes ago, and trust me, it is not that exciting.

..damn, gf I don't think (i'm sweating that one too) I'm going to make 'er to level 4.. I don't get how this flippin thing works..I logged onto a nurse that answered l,555 'l0 pt. best answers' (figures.. guess which category she 'excelled' in? health questions of course..) and she was up on the scale jillions more than lowly ole I was! (unfair.. eh, I just don't get how this works.) Somebody listed in the roster (what's the right name for that.. leaderboard?) mentioned a website telling you how in the hell this works.. (Damn I'm a lotta help, huh?? lmao) later.. you'll make 'er to 6...
