I play pick up basketball games in the gym. A lot of these cats are ball hogs. I pass the ball and sometimes score. I believe I'm a lot better than some of the guys I play with off of this skill alone. I had a teammate shoot an air ball after trying to score. He was o.k. with his airball that he shot. Fine. Well, when I get the ball, I only shot 2 times in the whole game. I missed but at least mine rattled out, I contacted the rim at least. He shook his head like, I can't believe you missed that shot. I'm like I can't believe you try to get mad because I only shot the ball 2 times and I missed a shot but not an airball. It's o.k. for him to miss but for me it's not o.k. What do you think about teammates like this?

it's always easier to find faults in others than it is to accept faults in one's self.

Well, if you are playing at the same level, sure, it is not fair at all. But I know people who does that, they just dont seem to know they suck BALLS in basketball. They know that they miss, but just cant seem to accept the fact that everyone else misses too. I think you should talk to him, it is not a big matter, but sonner or later, ur two-passes a game will decrease to none. If it is the whole team doing that, please quit. It is never good for your self-confidence. Alway, I repeat, Always think you can. Dont matter what they think, next time you get the ball, shoot for it, sooner or later, you will score, and they will respect you. But if the looks continue, quit the team.
Of course, if you are the strongest and best player on the team, then of course, you should be able to score more than the rest. Just look at Lebron James, he might get a few looks now and then when he misses a shot that everyone misses, but only he gets it cause he is paid 10+ a year.

You definitely have to shoot more than 2 times to get respect on the court miss or make your teamates have to know you have confidence. Basketball is a very competitive game you're not only going against the other team but you're competing against your own team as well. Usually towards the end of the game the best player would want the ball and whoever it is the whole team probably knows who that person is and wants that person to shoot miss or make it. So keep ballin and shoot more in the game!

I play pick up games a lot and if I mess up I let myself and others know it and I usually make up for it. I dont get on other people for messing up because everyone does, its part of the game. We all miss the bunny shots and have an occaisional airball. Many times people dont see their own mistakes and blame others for the misfortune of the team. Just brush it off because it is just a pick up game. Just keep doing your game and ignore what the other guys are complaining about. But if there is criticism, make sure it is constructive criticism.

Hey, thats just the aggression of the game. And sometimes they get an attitude, or get too cocky. Yeah the guys i play with (who play like freakin all-stars) expect alot out of me. And maybe that was it, he believed in your ability.

Otherwise, hes an ****** and you should consider hookin up to ball with some more fun friends who dont take the game THAT serious.

Don't worry about it man I play with clowns like this all the time. I mean in his eyes your missed shot is a shot he could have taken.......and probably missed too! Keep your game tight passing and taking the shots when your open. Don't worry about those clown because they get weeded out when you all play with real competition. Keep ballin!!!

It's a male thing. It was just away for him to make himself feel better about missing his shot. By pointing the finger at your missed shots it takes the focus off him.
