They still played the best but in the end whoever has the most goals wins. Shame on Zinedine Zidane. A poor example to his team mates.

Ya, they played very well, much batter than Italy, especially the cooperation between the players.
I do think France should win, but soccer is like this, it's always so unfair. I have watched so many matches, most are unfair. So there is no point of Hoping any team should have won. The result is the end and that's it. There is no possibility of changing the result anyway.
But quite pitifully, let the team playing dirty tricks to win, it's so ungraceful.. Lol

Now how is it that they "still played the best" when the score remained 1 to 1 during normal play time? Italy even got another goal except they were called offsides. France only came close to additional goals and didn't succeed. It is what it is ... don't be a sore loser (no disrespect intended).

You're right ... Zidane should be ashamed of himself. He totally blew it for the rest of his teammates.

Well, even the first goal for France were not meant to be. It was surely the referee's mistake. Watch the replay and you will see that the penalty kick was given for no reason! And yes, they did not apply themselves in the field. It was as if they DIDN'T want to give a damn about winning. Well, congrats to Italy!

We all want someone else to win and after effect is not nice...France did dominate the game and really played the best football, Italy won by the gift that is what penalties are a gift..it is what it is....

I do

France is a good team. I really hate penalty shoot outs cause it doesnt neccasirly mean the better team will win. Espically when they have played 75 minutes without any breaks

should have, could have.. point is, they did not. Yes, they played well, but so did Italy - they were tied and have a great defence - but down to it.. Italy won. Period. I agree.. shame on Zidane..

It depends on your opinion if four years of training should be decided on a shot less than an inch to high.

I am glad Italy won. I wish it had been Argentina, but there's always 2010...
