My husband recently began thinking about getting circumcised. Oddly enough i've never been with a circumcised man and didn't really know how to respond when he told me he was thinking about having it done? Is it really any different at all? Will lovemaking feel different? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Well any answers/advice would help really.

it is the best collection of answers about how important it is to have a foreskin i have seen on here.

please get your husband to read my y1a profile.

i am specialising in foreskin removal.

it is something he needs to think seriously about avoiding doing.

the foreskin helps to make sex more pleasurable for both of you, and to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections and aids/hiv.

it will be very painful for him and will cost a lot to do.

medical insurance does not cover routine foreskin removal because medical research actually says the foreskin has health benefits, and the presence of the foreskin is the opposite of a health risk.

so, unless he has phimosis (non retractable foreskin) or some other medical problem of the foreskin that must be fixed with surgery (a statistically low chance of this occuring, which makes the routine removal of infant boys' foreskins in the US baffling), advise him to keep his foreskin.

for both your's (which you are right to be concerned about) and his benefit.

good on you for asking a question based on sexual pleasure.

society just needs to feel more comfortable about partially basing the reason NOT to routinely cut off foreskins on men's sexual pleasure.

as him this same question - how do you expect sex will be without your foreskin?

research and men's experience says it is worse. unless there is
a genuine medical problem with the foreskin.

I have had experiences with both. I prefer a circumcised man. I have heard that medically it is healthier for the man because it is easier to keep clean. Some very nasty stuff can build up under the forskin and the cleanest of men can have urine linger after they use the batheroom which is not pleasant. Some men have difficulty pulling the foreskin back and it can be painful. I don't know your husband's situation but maybe he's experiencing some difficulty. The sex wouldn't be different for you because when erect they are both the same. However, your husband will probably feel a difference. I think it will be more sensitive to him because he will no longer have skin covering the head which is the the most sensitive part.

Well there are two answers first how old is he because after a certain age getting circumcised is difficult. You'll have erection problem and healing take a little longer when your older. I understand what he's going through because I had the same thoughts when I was 30 and its crazy to think about when sex is the part of the scenario... I say if he's pretty young go for it... And yes with a man sex is different when the for-skin is gone let me tell you it feel great...

I know that they don't all look the same, some guys are uncut and you wouldn't be able to really tell just by looking at it (short foreskin). And other guys are in a turtleneck. (long foreskin)

Foreskin protects the glands and sex feels better for the guy and it's supposed to make sex more smooth and supposedly makes women wetter because everything is in mesh.

I think turtlenecks are unattractive but you should just learn how you can play with him, just shower, what's the big deal, damn if I said something about my girl and her parts and suggested she change something I'd get slapped.

And when your circumcised, the penis head becomes desensitised because it is no longer protected. So it rubs against your pants and the skin toughens and dries out a bit.

This is just an American tradition....
but no turtleneck here

I recently saw my first uncircumcised penis ever. Actually lots of them at the same time in a nude coed sauna in Denmark. They were the most horrid looking things I've ever seen. If that was foreskins then I'm all for cutting them off. The nude head of the penis looks so much better to me. Thank you USA for our guys are circumcised here.

I think you are opening yourself up to a lot of lewd offers to let you experience before the operation.
Variety is the spice of life but I don't think that it will be easy to reverse the operation.

Ex-husband was not. Current husband is. I just happen to like my current husband better, but I didn't feel a difference.

2/3 of the world - those NOT Jewish or North American are not. Doesn't seem to hurt the rest of the planet with sex/procreation any.
