As I understand it, coming out of the closet is really hard. Maybe he doesn't know how you will react. Let him become more comfortable with the idea of telling his friends and do not push him into a situation where he feels he has to tell you.

Why would you do that. You already know and you should respect the fact that he isn't ready to tell you. It would probably make matters better if you told him you found out and how you found out.

If he is a good friend, then there is no reason to try to make him tell you. I am sure that it is a bit painful to know that he feels he can't confide in you, but let him tell you when he is comfortable.

He'll tell you when he's ready, you can't force information out of him that would just make things more awkward for him.
