best thing for your little one is pedialyte and some rice cereal and you can also try teething biscuits or toddler cookies (gerber makes them). the pedialyte will help replace not only the fluid he/she lost but also help maintain the electrolyte balance in the body.
the rice cereal and cookies have fiber in them which is a binding component and will help stop the diarrhea.
if he/she has had more than 8-10 episodes of diarrhea in 24 hours-you need to call your pediatrician.
report to the emergency room if he/she has:
a fever over 101.5 and is not drinking anything (water included)
dry mucuous membrances-inside of the mouth, the inner eyelids, or no tears when crying.
basic lethargy-not wanting to move around or be picked up
changes in alertness-hard to wake up from nap or wanting to sleep constantly.
no wet diapers for 4 or more hours
these are all signs of dehydration and in babies these symptoms can appear suddenly AND get worse very quickly.
hope this helps

You should definately see a doctor ASAP. Diarreah causes dyhydration. If your baby gets dehydrated, he could die! If he's had diarreah for more than a few days, he needs to be hospitalized. Take him to the ER.
Meanwhile, give the baby 2 ounces of either Pedialyte or a sports drink with electrolytes in it like Gatorade EVERY 15 minutes. This will keep him hydrated. Try small portions of food at a time. Avoid fruit, juice, punch, Kool-aid, milk, salty or sweet. Not just any fluid now, please, some fluids dehydrate more than hydrate. NO SODA!

Give them things that are binding. Like Bananas, rice cereal, Toast, yogurt. But you should take them to the doctor to figure out if it is a rotovirus, that is a virus of the intestines that happen in most babies. They will give them a pill that contains good bacteria so that it will stop the diarrhea. Hope that helps, oh and by the way, no apple juice (natural laxative).

Give only boiled sugar water with a little salt in it. Don't feed them anything until the diarrhea is over. If the child becomes lethargic, take him to the doctor immediately.

Plenty of fluids, and quit giving them apple juice till the diarrhea is gone or at least water it down.

depends on how long the baby has had it, frequency, and if there's a fever involved.
Too many things could be wrong...a doctor needs to see the baby especially if it's been more than 24 hrs.
In the meantime, give the infant lots of fluids.

absolutely NO dairy products--these are HUGE allergic foods that should not be consumed by children under the age of 4. give the child binding foods, and no pedialite.
