Yes they did they won, they deserve it, the rid the doubters and they played most the tournament without the worlds best defender Alessandro Nesta. They have been supreme and today they didn't cheat at all and have not cheated to italy standards this world cup, They have beaten the hosts Germany and France, 4 WC for Italy. Yeah!!! Forza Italia be back in 4 years

The long and short answer to your question is YES!! The whole World Cup tournament the Italian team has had to overcome a soccer scandal at home & a suicide attempt from a former teammate. Aside from that they have played extremely well as a team for most of the tournament. They have had 10 goal scorers on their team, their defense has been incredible & then there is goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Enough said!

Italy wans't the team I wanted to win my team was PORTIUGAL.
And I don't think eihter Italy or France should of been there,
But rather see Italy win than France,
Italy played a VERY good game against Germany.
BUt the final match shoudl of been GERMANY vs PORTUGAL!
Cause they both played really good teams and got far,
But it was a VERY good world cup
Alot of surprises and ALL teams did well!

i dont care, rossi has an excellent style of tlaent in simple terms not what italy is searching for his or her is continuously next time for him. I believe lippis judgment he's a sturdy coach even tho i'm not an Italy fan. he will play in a international cup it in simple terms wont be till yet another 4 or 8 years.

They won it. In the end France just couldn't get their minds off their cuisses de grenouilles and overflowing glasses of pinot noir long enough to grind the Italians thru the dirt and win the cup.

yes. i guess they played a series of good games with tons of effort and of course some penalties. they have good sportmanship and joy in playing against teams. lets just say every team that is not cocky and "IN YOUR FACE" (luv u france) and determined for a goal shud definetly win. i really liked france because they were a good team. i just hope one day some unknown underdog team will rise to the top and bring up a county's hidden national fame. otherwise peace italianos!

Absolutly, they were a class team the whole world cup. their players played very well, and they were definatly better than the other teams they played. Forza Italia!
