this solution may not be for you, but it worked for me. I had a mole problem in my backyard 3 years ago and with some persuading from a family member, I bought a Norwich Terrier to fix the problem. Those dogs were originally bred to get rid of rats, moles and other burrowing varmints.
But be forewarned, this dog will dig your moles out and kill them, so you're going to have bigger holes in your yard than you have now. When my dog cleaned them all out, I filled each hole with play sand and planted grass seed on top of it. The next spring, there weren't any signs on moles in my yard and there wasn't a hole to be found. And on top of that, I have a cool lil dog.

You need time to medication this problem permanently. You have got to go get the Milky Spore cure to kill grubs and use it three occasions a yr for two years. Then you can be good for 10 years. Briefly. This is not poison. It can be a bacteriological answer. Meanwhile that you may get those vibrating thumper stakes, however the batteries run out and so they do not do a lot.

OK...Sunlight liquid dish soap...mix a 1/2 cup in a gallon of water and pour some in each...mole hole. My dad used this all the time and it always worked...he has a gorgeous lawn and we live in hot Florida. Actually, he always told me that the moles were bad, but the armadillos digging up the moles were worse, hence the holes. Good luck.

You can hose the area down with mole repellent (a mixture of water, castor oil and dish soap). They sell it at garden stores and it works for me.
I guess moles can't stand the smell of castor oil and will leave the area - just spray it everywhere especially a barrier around the perimeter of your property.

You need a mole trap.
You can look at different kinds, here:
http://www.molepro.com/products/trap_comparison.htm
If you click on the first one, "Mole Pro Trap" that's very similar to the kind I've used and can verify works. I got mine at Farm 'n Fleet and my mole problem was gone within two weeks.

My Mom used to plant castor bean plants around the perimeter of our yard and garden to ward off the underground varmits. It worked, must have nasty tasting roots. The seeds may be poisonous, not sure.
