Why do the Goth kids that wear black and chains claim that they are different and individualistic, but really you all dress, talk, act the same?

Because they think that because they aren't fitting into the "normal" that they are "Indie" (which actually doesn't stand for individual but rather independant) neither of which they are. I wear what I want to wear, if I want to wear black pants with a chain hanging off the side with one of my polo's I'll do it I don't care what people think or say, call me what you want but I prefer Shawn. So "Goth" is just another stereotype....Society needs to learn to break those boundaries and get along with each other for who they are and not dislike each other for who they aren't.

I'm not really sure but i have some friends who are goths and punks. They say they do that because it makes them feel impowered(is that how it's spelled) and uniqueand it gives them character. However they make their own clothes or buy stuf and redecorate it. And not all goths weawr the chains, there are some that are more refined.

they dress and talk and act the same maybe but they are all different . they all have different reasons for being goth too . depression , way to express feelings , peer presure , the group they hang with , family is gothic ..

I always wondered that. I guess they stand out from the majority of us...but really. Can they skip on the chains, because I feel very scared and threatened around them.

they think only of themselves in this world
they are stupid
they think they are cool
they want to be individuals
they are stupid

they think they can take over the world

I don't know maybe cause they want to showoff or be really stupid and they think its really kool! But i think its lame!

because they think they are cool.....thats wat all kids think wen they are being different....and also cuz we are trying to find the "real us" as some people would say but in the end we all end up doing the same things
