There's no political unrest, there recently were federal elections, which where full of citizenship participation, and the results where a close call which obviosuly upsets the loser side (imagine if the same query would arise from the 2000 elections upsets in the US, while the whole Florida thing-ey was happening), but aside from that, you shouldn't worry...Mexico is a great, beautifu country and you'll feel totally welcome (and safe)

I have been at many, many political rallies in Mexico.
Mexicans no longer solve their political problems with guns... now they do it will competing rallies on the Zocalo.
There will be a lot of screaming and shouting about fraud over the coming weeks, but that is all it will be.

Travel to Mexico. It's a beautiful country.
