There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

i like to think that love is more then just those crazy butterfly feeling, when I'm loving someone i want to see them happy make them smile by doing things thoughtful and caring. Help them when i see help is needed give them a rest when they are tired i probably should try harder to show my appreciation when this same treatment is extended out to me

I think that it is when you actually put someone else's feelings before your own. You think about that person when you wake and when you fall asleep. I know that I would die for my husband and I would die for my children. I put them and what they want before I think of myself. Love isn't only with your spouse or significant other. You have love for your children.

It is the hingeing of one's happiness on the happiness of another. It is where your own desires come second to those of another. It is doing all you can, giving all you can, to help another person to reach their full potential as a person, and experience the fullest and happiest life they can. It is giving another person the life you would wish for yourself. Read my source for more exact definition:

nobody can actually explain what love is. You just know when you have it. I have been married to my husband for 19yrs and we only knew eachother for one day before moving in with eachother.

Well, I don't believe you can define love but there is a Clay Walker song:

What's that
I hear angels singin'
Telling me to make my move
Listen to it
Their voices ringin' baby
If you feel it get in the groove

Love is the rhythm of two hearts beating
Poundin' out a message steady and true
Talk to me baby tell me what you're feelin'
I know what love is
What's it to you

Time's up
Train's a leavin' baby
Are you ready to take that ride
Get on board
Don't keep me waiting baby
Say you're willin' to cross that line

Love is the rhythm of two hearts beating
Poundin' out a message steady and true
Talk to me baby tell me what you're feelin'
I know what love is
What's it to you

I'm sure your heart is telling you true
I gotta know what love is to you

'Cause to me it's the rhythm of two hearts beating
Poundin' out a message steady and true
Talk to me baby tell me what you're feelin'
I know what love is
What's it to you

Love is the rhythm of two hearts beating
Poundin' out a message steady and true
Talk to me baby tell me what you're feelin'
I know what love is
What's it to you
I know what love is
What's it to you

yes, you would do anything and everything for this person, and can not imagine your life without her/him,and they feel same about you...when your heart still smiles at the mere thought of them...
