and if you had stayed together, would it have lasted or was it better left as an affair.

It was very naughty of us, I know.
A month together. That's all we had.
I definitely smile whenever I think back to that time.
I had the great fortune to be able to go and find her, a couple of years later. And then, she came with me. And she's still here now.
At the time, I really didn't think it was going to turn out like this. I thought I was just having the best summer ever. Why leave it at just one summer though, if it was that good???

Oh, definitely. If he & I had stayed together it could have gone either way (lasted or not). As it is now, we're great friends upon whom I can rely upon for anything, and I wouldn't change THAT for the world.
