I love my job...I am very well respeceted, have been there 6+ years, have my own corner office, get all the Internet access I want, only have to supervise one employee and have an awesome boss. Full time (which I am) is considered only 35 hours per week, and I can work a flexible schedule anytime I need to.
I also was just voted "Employee of the Year".
I get free health insurance.
It is a non-profit agency.....but people tell me all the time I can go somewhere else and make at least $20 to $30k minimum more somewhere else doing the same thing.
I love my 5 weeks vacation, app. 15 holidays per year, 12 sick days per year and I love my co-workers.
My fiancee is pressuring me to go somewhere else, and I've had friends tell me that I could make so much more money elsewhere too.
But, is money everything? I can pay my bills, although I do live check to check.
I know I don't get nearly as much as I should in salary, but I feel the benefits make up for it in a way.....I'm so torn.

By the way, I am not Jewish....I just work for a Jewish organization so I get their holidays off. It's pretty cool not having to fast during Yom Kippur.

You may make $20-$30K more somewhere else, but are you willing to potentially end up in a job you don't love? The tasks you do may be the same, but the work environment and freedom you enjoy may not be there in the next job. Ask yourself how much you want or need the extra money and what are you willing to give up in exchange...
Your answers will tell you whether the leap is the right one to take.

You have the options not to leave your current job just because you want to have your long holiday. Try to get a long leave if possible, some employers can tolerate with this kind of situation.
if your fiance presurring you to work somewhere else and you feel that it is worth, go for it. Otherwise, Work at home after your working hours or during weekend. Go for the internet business, which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. Third, choose the business, which does not require big money to start it.

Honestly, I tried so many opportunities offered through the internet and this is the only one that really works.

It sounds like I would love your job! Money is definately not worth loosing enjoyment and happiness. Stress and misery cost you everything in the long run. Loving the people you work with is a rare thing, indeed, along with the amount of days off. If you can make alot more money now, you can still do it later, so I would take my time with this. Lastly, most people that work for a non profit are doing something for others and that alone is a huge thing. Don't let others idea of what is important lead you away from this. Please wish a job like yours on me! Listen to your own heart.

I had to make this same decision just a few months ago. I went ahead for the change! I think you should send out your resume, and during the interview, you should interview the employer! See how nice they are, and let them explain the benefits to you. You really are just going to have to weight the pros and cons. Don't worry about what others are saying, you need to be happy. What will make you happier, a bigger paycheck, or your place of work right now? Would you be able to go back if you weren't happy in six months? If so, go for it!!! I wish you all the luck and happiness not only in your career, but in your coming marriage. I think you'll make the right choice, you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders!

Sometimes the benefits out weigh the $. Depends on how happy you are with it. If you need more money, approach your supervisor or boss about it. If it looks like you won't be considered for a raise any time soon, then perhaps it's time to look elsewhere.

If you are happy (and the package you describe is great) then why leave? Your friends and fiancee are butting their noses in where they don't belong. No, money IS NOT everything, in fact it means very little if you make more and find you hate your job. Do what YOU feel is right and tell your friends and fiancee you don't need their input, you are staying put. End of subject.

go with your heart sweetie, think, if you want the other job, look at the benefits, do you still get holidays off, lots or personal and sick days, make a list of the pros and cons of each job, then decide which is the right job for you, and remember to follow your heart.

If I were you I would get the job that you will like the best, also you have to remember which one offers more things such as insurance and which one is more understandable.
