This is a part of flag etiquette that gets forgotten easily. If anyone has a worn flag, call your town's local Veteran's of Foreign Wars or American Legion. They take care of the proper disposal of worn flags.

Its just as easy to fly the Star Spangled Banner high as it is to burn it in protest. I prefer you to fly the Colors, respect them and when its time comes, equally respect the proper way to dispose of the flag.

That's the reason I get angry when people who burn the flag get arrested on felony charges. I know they are doing it in protest but so what? They are disposing of it properly and it is our right to protest peacefully.

That's true in part. There is a ceremony involved. It's not just out and out burning it.
