The people who interviewed you will interview more people before they can make a decision as to the best candidate. You probably may have a feeling or two about how your interview went. If you don't hear back from them in about a week, you could give them a call & ask.

Definitely agree with Karen. Send a thank-you note IMMEDIATELY. Ask for their business cards so there is no embarrassment of misspellings names or wrong e-mail addresses, etc.
You're question is a hard one to answer....it really can only be answered case-by-case. Each company is different, each interviewer is different. Some just say they will call you because that is what they always say. Others mean it, and it is to tell you the good news, bad news, or that they want you to come back for another interview.
I would say if they don't call you within a week, it is acceptable to call them and re-iterate your interest in the job.
But again.....don't forget that thank you note or e-mail!!! I work in HR, and I can't stand when people don't do something so simple as that.
Good luck!!

After the interview, you should go home and send a thank you note to the person who interviewed you and thank them for their time and hope that you will be joining them at the company.

it just means they will call and let you know one way or the other. keep looking until you know for sure. better to have 2 jobs lined up and you get to choose rather than no job at all.

Depends. Maybe in an hour. Maybe never at all. Both have happened to me.
