yes, there the best team in the world, and they deserved to win with every new game. they gave great performances, and i dont know what the hell all these other people are complaining about! italy won because we were they best team, not france! and dont go blaming marco for what that maniacal a$$hole zidane did,ok?theres never a need for anything like that. and while were on the subject, if you want to talk about playing dirty,......um,......LOOK AT ZIDANE! The french played dirty the entire game, and should have been out of this tournament long ago. and ill be surprised if FIFA doesnt further punish Zidane for his lack of HUMAN F*CKING QUALITIES! And having met MATERAZZI!, i know for a fact that he is not racist, not like some people like to believe!Italia should have won, and they did. they were the best team, played the best game, and didnt punk out like some ***** losers! FORZZA ITALIA!!! I CAMPIONI DEL MONDO!

The Italian squad is the best squad they've had since 1990. A well deserved win for Italy after the 1994 World Cup devastation against Brazil (curse that bum Baggio, what a stupid hairdo he had). As for that comment, we will never know what was actually said. Fact of the matter is, Italy will not get stripped of the title because of the comment. Nonetheless, Zidane is a veteran player and he should've known better. Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm aware that most of the French squad isn't even from France, and racism is a serious matter in football. FIFA already knows about the issues involving players and fans, and going forward, FIFA should take more corrective action on racial slurs. Thing is, in Europe they are just starting to experience what North America experienced with the Black movement in the 1960's. In the end, when it came down to playing soccer Italy was able to capitalize over the opportunities they had.

Haha... Italy will be stripped of the title when the facts come out!!!! He said something like
"go back to Africa, you don't belong to Europe". Very few people know that Zidane has African
background but he has! He responded spontenously without thinking of the consequences because he
is NOT used to receiving racial slurrs.... he really looks white!
The Italian goalkeeper actually said something to that effect to Thierry Henry PRIOR to this
incident (holding Henry around the shoulder to make sure he hears), but Henry just replied "****
YOU!" without taking any physical action. Henry is noticably black so he is used to this as a
professional player, and he responded appropriately.
Notice that when the Zidane case happened it was the Italian goalkeeper who allerted the referee.
This tells you it was a pre-planned and pre-meditated phsycological and racial tactics that the
Italians used against the French to expell a French player and consequently win this
Championship. FIFA is fighting a fierce battle right now against racism in football so I'm
absolutely convinced that when the facts come out, Italy will be stripped of the title!
Finally, this should be a lesson to African players. If they ever want to win this cup they
should be prepared to receive racial slurrs on the field without taking physical action.

Italy are the winners but are not champions. Champions are honoured when their opponents play their best and when they play their best and they are better. Clean and beautiful is what is sport. Champions do not win by bringing out the worst of their opponents. Materazzi has disgraced Italy and disgraced the sport by being a cheap-***, ugly player, provoking Zidane with offensive antics and words.

As much as I am NOT a fan of Italy's antics... I must admit they played a good, clean game today and the Cup was well won and well deserved... congratulations. If they played that way all the time instead of diving all over the field constantly, I'd probably get to like them.

Congratulations are in order... but to say I love them?,,,,
We'll see what happens with the match fixing trial. I think Italy will always have this hanging over their head when people look back at the winners of the 2006 World Cup
Congratulations though.

Forza Azzuri! E' uno spettacolo!
Ce la siamo meritata.
I was cheering for them from the start, I prayed they would win but always had fear they would not make it. Sono contento.
It is difficul to argue that Gigi Buffon was an amazing goaly this World Cup. Totti is my sports hero for playing even with eight pins in his ankle and rod in the tibia, personaly I have eight pins in my knee and a rod in the femur, that takes heart.

Yes!! And to everyone who's still bent over the red card, whatever Materazzi said he didn't deserve a head-butt. Zidane should have showed some sportsmanship even if he had been insulted.
