facial features and body remind me of weasel
ears flat to the head,
4 to 5 inches long
very soft
round as a cigar
short tail
body and tail was dark brown with white from chin to belly
feet was clawed but not web

i have looked up every one has said and it is none of them so far. I really dont know what it is. very tiny no to mole,vole,squirrel,ferret mink, weasel

Check this out? Could that be it? It's like the smallest living carnivore. It would help to know where you are from too though.
My best friend takes pictures of Mink up in Michigan a lot.

I would guess it was a Least Weasel.....Description: A tiny weasel. Brown above, white below. Tail very short, brown. Feet white. Body length...6 3/4"-8 1/8" Tail length...7/8"-1 1/4"

could be a baby ferrett, or another weasel breed. The best thing to do is ask a game warden or research it on the internet, so you know for sure. I've had ferretts and chipmunks and all kinds of wild type cretures. It just may be a weasel. I've seen red ones( the color of a fox) and brown ones and white ones. Too bad you didn't get a picture of it. You must have gotten real close to be able to touch it though, unless it's tame. Sounds like a baby though. Good luck! (SJR)

Sounds like a gopher.
They live under the ground. But i've never seen one with much white furr, so I'm not sure.
