Yes you should tell. Kids at this age have no concept of what they are doing sexually and she could get pregnant. I know this sounds extreme, but it happens more often than you think.

Find out the nature of the relationship first. If it's with a boy her age, and it's only a good friendship and no hanky panky going on, then it's innocent, and it's better for her to refer to him as her good friend than her boyfriend. Still, though, they should always be under adult supervision. If it's more than that, tell your dad. That's totally inappropriate. 9 is waaayyy too young for a boyfriend. She doesn't even know herself yet, not until way wayyyy later. She's not mature enough to have a b/f, and any hanky panky will harm her, physically and psychologically.

Hanky panky? I can't see how any 9 yr old could even hanky panky. I didn't even know what that was at age 9. Do some nosing around first, find out the nature of the relationship.

If your father talks to you about how he feels about a boyfriend then a nine year old girl should.

If the lines of communication are open both ways this conversation will be worth having.
Fathers can be a great source for helping girls out with boyfriends.
The father can aid the daughter in developing her standards of how she will be treated by her boyfriends and her future permanent relationships.

If the father and daughter do not talk well with one another but are accepting of each others difference a written letter might suffice.

If there are problems of distressing nature a girl of nine years shouldn't have a boyfriend anyway.

Regardless of whether or not he's the same age as your sis, your sis should tell your dad/mom. If she can't tell her parent, then there's something she has to hide or there's something terribly wrong with their relationship. Either way, it needs to be addressed.

At 9 you should tell your dad everything and just be glad he cares enough to listen and you need to listen to what he says as well. Just remember that dad will always be your friend no matter what!

Just tell her to focus on school, because he probably will not be around for long and if she starts getting inot boys and she doesnt finish school she will be the one who loses. Just tell here to stop trying to grow up so fast. What ever happen to playing Barbies?

depends on the guy. at that age, its probably nothing serious anyways, just little crushes being awkwardly acted upon. however, if he's more than a few years older than her, then you should definately tell your dad.
