I had been off of my birth control for a month, and the doctor told me the first month back on wouldn't count, which was this month. Well, my husband and I had unprotected sex 2 days before my expected ovulation date. I know that the chances are great, but I still want to know your opinions. How likely is it that I could get pregnant?

We're not trying, but will be very happy if it does happen.

So much depends on your body and other circumstances. You could become pregnant if your body is working as it should, but even then, it's not a certainty. I think modern pregnancy tests will work pretty well a few days after your period should or should have started. From what I have read, having had sex two days before you expected to ovulate will probably tilt it toward having a girl. But don't quote me on it. It's always iffy to ask a medical question in a place like this. I'm not a doctor, but I did take training in natural family planning, which is sometimes used to help a couple conceive. But when you have been using hormones, that will have an effect. Using hormones like that isn't the best idea in the world, because your own hormones are delicately balanced, and these will interfere with the balance.

Even if the conditions are ideal it is still difficult to get pregnant from a scientific standpoint. Sadly, you won't know for a few weeks. But good luck to you!! I tried and tried with my ex husband to get pregnant and was told I would never have children of my own. Sadly that marraige ended and I got pregnant right away with my new husband. SO if it is meant to be it will be!

Oh and I got pregnant the first month off my pills

Not that likely. Most birth control pills take up to six months to leave your system. If you had only been off for a month you would still be well protected, especially if you went back onto the pill.

If you have been on the pill, you may or may not have started ovulating. If you did ovulate, you may or may not have gotten pregnant. Wait a couple weeks then take a pregnancy test and you'll know.

You have a 50/50 chance of getting pregnant; either you did or you didn't. I guess you were trying to get pregnant, right?

Pretty likely. Get a pregnancy test.

It could be fairly likely. If you are fertile, sperm can live inside your uterus for up to 5 days.
