The stronger type of soda ,that cleans drains ,and heavily soiled clothes ,is usually called, Soda Crystals, and comes in a box about a quarter the size of a cereal box, in the UK at least.

Actually I use baking soda and vinegar. It foams up and leaves drains clear and fresh. Especially at the kichen disposal...which often tends to have an unpleasant aroma. :)

this is referring to the arm and hammer baking soda you use around the house, mixed with vinegar this does create a cleansing and de-clogging solution for sinks,and other things.

Chemical free? Fill the sink/bath with hot water then as it is getting empty, boiling water !! it gets rid of the fat deposits and better for the environment, even if it does mean heating water up. better hot water costs, than chemicals I say.

caustic soda! im not a geek but i happened to have studied chemical technology... it is also known as potassium hydroxide it is highly corossive, be carefull when you use it! have a nice day
