When Clinton Bombed Iraq in 1998?

When clinton bombed Iraq in December of 1998, did Saddam have weapons of mass destruction?

http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1998/12/16/transcripts/clinton.html

And, if he got rid of them after the bombing, why would Clinton's Secretary of state say this a year later? (LOOK AT THE DATE OF THE FOLLOWING QUOTE 1999)

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999.

I'm wondering when exactly saddam got rid of his weapons. Was it the day Bush got into office, or do you just like to change stories to try to make Bush look bad?

OLDERANDWISER: you are mistaken. Saddam played the same games with the weapons inspectors after the bombing.

You also didn't explain the date on the quote I provided. That is clearly well after the bombing.

He (saddam) was trying to obtain WMD all the time.
He thumbed his nose to the world, and the UN did nothing.
When GWB says that we will view your facilities by force if we have to, then he better be willing to back it up.
Well guess what.
He backs his words up.
That to me is a great leader. You dont say your going to do something and then turn the other way when its time to do what you said.
W is the man.
He will go in the books as one of the greatest ever.

Nice question here, and you cant get a response that says any different. I mean when they said he is spending money on WMD, that is not old WMD, that is new stuff not 20 to 50 yrs old.

Good question! & Good Point!

Ok here we go again.. Clinton has been out of office for 6 yrs. I think it's time for you guys to just stop. Yes we did bomb Iraq. Within the parameters of the UN because they stopped allowing the UN in to look for weapons. Right after the bombing when they saw the UN was serious, they let the inspectors back in. They never found any WMD even though we new they had some, the same way Bush did Regan gave them to him in the 80's when they were our allies. However they were old then and even older and inoperable now.( by the way those are the ones Bush found) . Sorry but you do try to pass the blame and it is getting old. GWB has been in office for 6 count them 6 yrs. Clinton is not there anymore Oh and by the way GB Sr. and Clinton have become friends. Funny isn't it.

Face it Sadam was a better poker player than Bush or Clinton.

He did have the weapons he got from Oliver North way back in Ronnie Rayguns day but used most of them killing Kurds and Sheites.

The big difference was Clinton was stopped by congress and Bush wasn't. Since both men were in the same political party (oligarchs) it really makes little difference after the fact.

What is important is that we nuke them now and take the oil.

People have short memories when it comes to politics and policies, especially if they support the opposing party.

Anybody remember how many THOUSANDS of jobs were being lost at the end of the Clinton years? Barely got reported. Bush gets blamed for the economy which he inherited from old Billy

Saddam definetly had WMDs and the Liberals act as if they never made the claim and Bush was supposedly 1st one to make it.

But it is my duty to remind the Liberals that their own said it before.

Good point I hadn't realized that, I guess its because people in politics now aren't worried about the truth, just what the public thinks they believe in.
