I think you just have a weird period. It may surprise you, but only about 20% of women actually have a 28 day cycle, and I know some girls like you. I personally have mine every once in a while, and it's never really been on a schedule. But as far as flow goes, mine is usually lite, but there are the times where it's heavy. I think you just had a doosy this time. No worries.

I guess it's pretty normal. You know, everyone is different. Some girls have long heavy periods(me! you!) Some girls have short, light periods. Some girls are a mix of the two. Some girls are in between. Eleven days is on the long side but I wouldn't worry too much. If it lasts like more than two weeks you need to see a doctor.

Ugh...you poor kid.
Yes, it's in the range of normal, but you might feel more confident if a doctor took a look at you and confrimed that everything's ok.
And, if I may, a word about OB/GYNs: you may not agree (*I* sure didn't at 13!), but they are your best friends. They can help you regulate your period, change the timing of it, reduce cramps and look out for your health in every way.
Find one you like, and see her (or him) once a year. When the day comes that you want to start a family, you'll be confident, and glowing with health and strength!
Good luck, sweetie!

No, your cycle is off. If you are soaking more than 4 pads a day, you need to be checked for anemia. There are medications to help regulate your period, something as simple as birthcontrol pills. Go to your doctor or local health department. That kind of bleeding on a regular basis can leave you tired, dizzy, cranky and without much energy. Usually it is fairly easy to correct.

Everyone's different, and you're young and your period's irregular. But 9 days isn't unusual. If you go much more than 11 and it's still heavy, it's time to see your gynecologist. If you have never been, you should go.
Most women have periods about every month.

After 3 years you should be menstruating more regularly. I would talk with your Mom and family Dr to make sure they know what you are experiencing. Long and heavy can be normal but this amount of irregularity is not.

Your body needs to have a period every month. You need to go to your mother and tell her what is going on. I missed my period for 7 months straight because i had problems. She recomended that i start birth control. It helps regulate your flow and your periods wont be as heavy and you wont have cramps. But so you know if you get on birth control you don't have to have sex.

WOW!! No that is not normal. However, it doesn't mean that anything is wrong. I mean you are just starting having periods, so it might act kind of wacky at first. If this continues to happen month after month, you should deffinately see a doctor.
