If youve ever played a professional game, youll find that some people will trash talk just to get a rise out of you or just throw you off your game. Nowhere is this done more that the Serie A. You'd think someone like Zizou, who played for many years in Italy would be used to that. I'm a huge fan, but what he did to Marco Materazzi was uncalled for, and he deserved the card.

No, Just Zidane deserved the card. Matrezzi can't be penalized just because your hero decided to headbutt the guy.
The Ref was fair and Zidane deserved what he got and i'm happy he didn't go outside to get the medal.
It's so funny how predictable questions like this would arise after the game.

Are you kidding me??!!! The referee not fair?? Did you see what he did?? Or are you blind?? The ref asked the assistant ref if he hit him or not...he answered was yes!! So Elizondo went and gave him a card. Materazzi should not get a card they were both talking to each other but Zidane did what he always does...lose control when he cannot control a situation. He did it when he played in France, and when he played for Real as well...stupid fouls under pressure

Zidane deserved it for what he did. Matrezzi did nothing, so he should not have gotten one. What Zidane did was horribly wrong.

the only reason i think it was NOT fair is because i dont believe a referee saw it. i think that they heard the boos and saw the replay and then lied. i hope this does not taint zidane's career.
