White public figures, in sports or public office are always attacked if they make on slight little comment towards another race. Not good if you ask me. I think we should be able to make fun of everyone equally. Especially Arabs.

That is a very good question!!! Why is it that a colored man can call a mexican a spi*, or call a caucasian a honky, yet we are wrong, or can get sued for calling him a N***er. Amazing!

I think you've just shot your own argument in the foot. What you fail to see, either from ignorance, mental slip or intentional hubris, is that your closing fragment negates your "let's treat everyone fairly" sentence.

I have not problem in principle with the "can't we all just get along" vibe of "making fun of everyone equally". But in practice, what is found is many use that as a poor ruse for capping on the people group they hate "equally". In other words, just another disguise for racism.

Public figures in general are, by definition, PUBLIC figures and thus come under greater scrutiny. White public figures belong to, like it or not, what is still understood as the racial majority of the US.

The prevalent "must be politically correct" atmosphere is getting almost McCarthyesque, and I would agree (if this is what you're saying) that the witch-hunts and cross-burnings have got to stop - especially for many obviously innocuous comments.

But is that what the tenor of your post really conveys?

Historically, the dominant race has been the most criticized for its racial remarks. This is especially true in multiracial countries like the US. In fact, the US is the most racially diverse country in the world. Combine this with the spice of a liberal society, and you have just what you describe in your question. Liberal "do-gooders" are the first to jump into the fray and demand equality for everyone, especially those, who like themselves, are in the lowest tax brackets. I guess it makes sense to demand equality when you are at the empty end of the economic vacuum.

The "racism pendulum" has swung from real racism (slavery, abuse & gross prejudice) to a type of reverse descrimination that renders us all sensitive to remarks, however benign, about those our forefathers so vagrantly oppressed. As with most hot political issues, things cool off and the pendulum begins its return journey. At some point, equilibrium is achieved, but not if the pendulum is swung too far in any one direction. Our "opressed" bretheren should take heed to this and consider not pushing so hard....

White people are the only race to be publically called racist because the ruling class is (mostly) white. And the ruling class is racist. The wealth that fuels todays economy and makes these people rich is the same wealth derived from the slave labor of blacks in the old south, passed on from generation to generation. It is in the best interest of said ruling class to perpetuate racism in order to breed competition between groups of workers and thus drive down wages, maximizing their own profits and solidifying their power.

Because white people founded American on, by and for racism. It's just rooted so deeply. The wounds of slavery are still wide open. The slaughter of innocent Native Americans for the white man's gain cannot be forgotten. White people have exploited every type of person on the planet except themselves for their benefit. So when another group says so-called "racists" things about white people, they're just retaliating against the true racism only whites can exhibit.

First, because the Whites were the "last" imperialists to occupy all other colored peoples' countries.
Second, they were the first people to free their minds from superstition and any domination.
Third, they believe in democracy which makes them allow other people to accuse them of anything whether true or false.
Fourth, because they believe that the Sabbath was created for man not man for the Sabbath. So they always change, renew themselves, innovate their minds and have the worlds not one world owns them.
Fifth, because other peoples, instead of making themselves the colors they want, like to blame their colors on the Whites.
Sixth, because WHITE is transparent, and so clear that people can see what is beyond or inside, while others can not see inside themselves because they always color themselves with dark, yellow, red, brown and black.
Seventh, because WHITE is so pure that "a" slightest dirt on it can appear very big and dark.
Eighth, Because others can see "magnify" the slightest dirt in WHITE while they blind their eyes about the stains in their colors.

Because we are the majority race, and because white racism has been highlighted throughout history. Apparently that makes it okay for other races to be anti-white. I agree, double-standard if you ask me.

I say racism doesn't really matter if it's just words. Unfortunately, it usually goes further than that. But making a public statement isn't a crime.

I think that you are absolutely correct, but if you look at history, it was the white person who wronged other races the most, and now those races have rights and part of that is the right to holler racist first
and now in today's society it is politically correct, and in our life time we will not see the race thing gone, so we all have to live with it

Because historically, the white man has tried to take over natives lands and kill or make slaves of anyone in their way.

However I agree with your view that racism today is thought of as a white person only issue when that is not at all the case. Racism has no colour or religion. It is wrong and unacceptable no matter who the culprit is.

People should be treated equally no matter what the color. There is racism because some people treat other people with another color differently. Thus, when a person gets that opportunity to air their grievances, they made it on TV, radio and when in public office. Let us fight this practice and treat each other rightfully.

This is an Age Old Question that we pray each generation will heal and go away.
We all know there are others who are racist but they don't get the victimization White folks get.
Pray it changes and try to spread the word positively.
