IMHO, I wouldn't attempt it. First of all, you would have to replace all the wheel studs with 1" longer studs so the lug nuts would have enough threads to screw onto. But what would concern me would be that all that extra length in studs would put extreme forces on the wheel studs, and possibly cause them to shear off! I just feel it would be a safety issue.

On factory wheels? Why? If they're already on there, they're correctly backspaced as it is...

All I know is that a lot of people don't like them, but I put later-model Ford wheels on my '68 Mustang and had to use spacers to get the correct backspacing and keep the tires from rubbing. I never had a problem.

one inch spacers won't leave a lot of space for your lugs nuts. if you are looking to have the wheels stick out then i would suggest either get wider tires or get a set of wheels that have a shallow offset.

Very bad!!! When your accelerating the torsional stress is applied to wheel studs. When they snap off your wheel leaves the car and you crash!
