like when people goto awards show they always saying i am wearing this type of suit or that type of gown...i find it very overcompensating...keep it simple....i am wearing a t-shirt and jeans

Because designers often pay the celebs to wear their clothes... therefore they want anyone who is watching to know that what so-and-so is wearing, is THEIR creation. It's basically advertisement. Heck, if Kiera Knightly wore a gown that I designed to an awards show, I'd want everyone to know that it was mine. Wouldn't you?

Plus, if someone asked "what are you wearing" and the celeb said "Oh it's a gown." or "It's a suit and tie." It'd be pretty silly sounding. Don't you agree?

Without names it would be called NOTHING! Do you think designers would want to design Nothing. Then they would be given awards for designing Nothing. Then all the people would be walking around with Nothing on.

Yeah...I don't understand why people are so obsessed with name-brand fashion.

It's like...who gives a s**t what brand of clothing people wear?
