1996 chevy 4x4 truck, 305 engine, It runs and then dies sometimes starting right back up again and other times not starting at all. I have changed fuel pump and it ran good for 15 miles and then died again. I have tried different fuel pump relays and that did not help. I checked power at fuel pump and have none when it will not start.

you need to make sure the fuse for the fuel system is turning on and then that the relay is turning on when it doesnt start and you have no power to the pump you can jump terminal 30 to terminal 87 at the relay this will give you power to the pump so long as the power feed to the relay is good from the fuse with this jumped you can again check for power at the pump sometimes the terminals at the pump connector get spread and you dont get a good contact also check your ground if it is loose or dirty can cause the pump not to run the fuel pump relay should click when you first turn the key on if this is not happening then again make sure you are getting power to the relay from the fuse the ecm has to provide the ground to turn the relay on you could also try swapping the relay with another one with the same part number

I may be wrong about this , but I belive a 96 has a fuel pump reset
switch for saftey. This switch shuts off power to the pump when the truck is in a accident, I think its pretty sensitive, read in your shop manual or owners manual { may not be listed in owners manual}
