Frogs, snakes, ducks, fish...
Frogs eat bugs
Snakes eat rodents (some eat frogs, but most of them eat rodents, and they are good if you have fruit trees cause fruit trees attract rodents)
Ducks eat plants and store bought duck food (I think)
Fish will be fine, as long as there are plenty of plants, and as long as the ponds water stays clear.
If youre worried about keeping the water in the pond from becoming oligotrophic (too cloudy) you can install a small fountain or waterfall type thing. Just be sure the fish dont get suctioned into the pump. I dont know how big the pond is, but there are also store bought means of keeping the water healthy.
If you have a large pond, be careful of bird droppings. Sometimes birds will eat alligator eggs, and the eggs will remain alive, even after being digested. Every now and then an egg will get dropped into a pond and the pond will end up with a baby gator. I have no idea where you live, but this is a common occurrence in FL. If this happens, just DONT feed the alligator. Call animal control, and they will catch and release it into a rural lake or pond.
DO NOT FEED A GATOR. They cant see well, and if you feed them they might grow up to see a person and immediately think of food. This is the cause of most gator "attacks". Sorry if I just scared you, lol. Baby gators are actualy really sweet- I've held one. Just dont feed them. =)

If you love the animals as much as you say- then let the wild animals live in their natural habatat as possible.
Bee's don't like being kept in jars- God didn't make them that way. Scorpions, bugs, don't like it either.
Ferrel cats are just mean and possibly carry dieases- however, if you can find one thats just dropped a litter of kittens, and catch a kitten thats about 8 weeks old you could have a nice cat as a pet. Ditto on puppys and dogs PROVIDED they were domesticated once.- Once again, diease and mothering instincts may prevent this from happening. Remember how protective your Mom is of you? Just remember that wild animals will kick your butt if you try to take their kids away from them.
Rodents stink because of their urine.
Squirrles are wild, and are protected.
Groundhogs make OK pets- feed'em cat food and water, they can be housebroken with a litterbox.
If you have a pond, it may be possible that you have leeches in it. Take some raw liver, tie it to a string and throw it out in the pond- let it stay for a few hours, then reel it in. You might have a few leeches on the liver. You can keep it for a few days it will eat the liver- then return it to the wild.
Good luck

Wild animals are not meant to be pets. A human can not provide for the animal like Mother Nature can. If you have a pond, you can get some goldfish or Koi. Actually they will come to you to eat. Reptiles require a lot of care, particularly turtles. Plus most states have strict laws about keeping reptiles. My advice is not to have an indoor pet. Make friends with some of the animals in your backyard. You can make bird feeders and the birds will come and eat, especially humming birds if you have the correct type of feeder. You can feed the squirrels and chipmunks. If you have a pond, perhaps ducks and geese come in the spring and you can OCCASIONALLY feed them. You can't provide what Mother Nature can, but you can help...just do your research first. It's almost certain that, if you take something wild out of its habitat, it will die. Anyways, if you were a wild animal, would you want to spend the rest of your life in a cage?

Alligator, you can probably buy one in Florida or your local pet store and you have to have a license to have one, I would feed it a meat everyday until it is grown up and then let it catch its own food from the pond and nearby animals. I would also recommend you not to pet it or walk it after it is grown up due to potential injuries. Fun things you can do with and Alligator once it is grown up is to feed it a fish from the air and watch the alligator jump up and catch it in the air. I hope that helps.

It depends on how big the pond is. There may be turtles inside the pond wich make good pets. And frogs but those (in my opinion) aren't that great. Or you can just get lizards.

well most animals live by the pond because they are better off near the pond can't you just make friends with them out there and not make them a pet because sometimes they die from not being where they were
it would be best if you went and got a hermit crab....at a petshop
they are cheap to feed and fun pets!

well there is fish turtles and lots of things but to tell you that you would have to say the inviorment you live in because if you live in the suburbs then you aint finden nothin but bugs an what ever you got in your pond but if you live in say like the counry there is no end to what you might find lol but to make it easy you should consider going to adopt an animal out of the shelters cause that would help cause the shelters are all full!!!!

Wild animals from your back yard could be dangerous - squirrels, rats and mice might carry rabies. Wild birds do not make very good captive pets. But you could enjoy them as they are in the wild by attracting them to your yard. Put a bird feeder with bird seed in your back yard and be sure to get a bird bath - or make one yourself. You'd be surprised at how many visitors you will get in a very short time. All kinds and colors. And they eat bugs!
