How do you lift a Mercury outboard prop out of the water? I do not want to take the motor off, just life the propeler part out of the water while it is not in use.

if it does not have a power trim reach down below the waterline and out somewhere on the drive is a locking mechanism that prevents the outdrive from poping out of the water when you put it in reverse un latch that and she should lift or power up so you can acess the prop also put the drive in neutral before unbolting the prop to prevent internal damage

If it is not an electric tilt and trim then you will need to lift it by hand.
Between the motor and the transom is a catch bar that slides through tthe different knotches on the motor. You will need to lift the motor up slightly and then pull the catch bar out, then lift your motor to its top height.

You can put the boat on a trailer or put the boat on a boat hoist or tilt the motor up.
