It is one of the best. No argument here. In the scene from Casablanca where the French were singing(in Rick's Cafe) La Marseillaise to drown out the Germans who were singing their anthem, those really were French expatriots who had fled France after the Nazis had taken over. It was one of the most emotional scenes in any movie. Those tears you saw were real. Vive la France!

I'm French, and I haven't seen Casablanca.
Our national anthem is coming from the Revolution, so it is a war song.
Some of the sentences are violent, that's why a lot of French don't like it very much. Some people propose to rewrite some sentences, or to invert the order of the couplets.
A particular sentence is criticized "Qu'un samp impur abreuve nos sillons" (something like "Let an impure blood flow our fields"): some people think that it is a racist sentence against the strangers.
But most of the historicians tell us that "impure blood" does not designate the strangers, but designate the revolutionnary French themselves.

so a procedures as i will inform, there aren't any similarities in any respect between them:- (a million) One is in French, the different is in English (2) The French nationwide anthem - l. a. Marseillaise - is in 4/4 time; superstar Spangled Banner is in 3/4 time (3) The song to superstar Spangled Banner became written by employing an Englishman, besides the actual incontrovertible truth that the words were written to commemorate an incident in a conflict with Britain. i will't see the French ever swallowing their nationwide music being written by employing a foreigner - a lot less an Englishman!! (4) superstar Spangled Banner celebrates the perception of peace; l. a. Marseillaise is largely an orgy of blood-letting! (5) l. a. Marseillaise became written 24 years in the previous than superstar Spangled Banner and became followed because the respectable nationwide anthem round one hundred fifty years in the previous than superstar Spangled Banner - in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that l. a. Marseillaise became banned a number of circumstances by employing successive French governments for the time of its heritage.

No way, I think the Italian anthem has the best tune! It's upbeat and always gets the crowd going no matter where you hear it, whether it's played on a football field or after a Ferrari win at a grand prix.
