you know I can tell you this from seeing girls . . . they put on a lot more than they need . . . they don't understand that they are still beautiful without it

I'd say too much, although I think I've discovered some reasons why over the years so I'm sharing them here.
There was a girl in my dorm who wore tons of foundation to cover up one of those girl mustaches. She should have looked into bleaching or waxing because putting gunk over it really didn't help. You could still see the shadow, only now it had texture.
Another reason for too much foundation/concealer is an attempt to cover up red blotches (acne, acne scars) or dark shadows. Finding color specific blocking concealers (green for red spots, yellow for dark/bluish areas) and experimenting in natural light with application and blending is a good way around that problem.
Then there is the "hooker lips" thing. I have no idea what that is all about, but I see girls with lips that look like they would slime whoever even thought about kissing them. The tons of gloss style is just nasty and I don't know even one guy who wants to kiss a mouth covered in that stuff. Guys?
Lastly, I recently found a picture of me from about 9 years ago. It was a relatively close up picture and I was shocked at how beautiful my skin looked. Back then, every little flaw glared at me. So realize that we beat up on our own faces a lot more than they deserve and that too much makeup can damage your skin and/or hide the beauty that is already there.

i noticed some wear too much eyeliner and look like those egyptian women with heavily outlined eyes,as if they got make-up tips from a mime(those silent actors wearing white gloves) lol eva longoria is a great example of artificial beauty.minus the dark eye make-up,she looks completely different.i think some normal girls who may be deemed as "plain janes", without overdone make-up are prettier than some of those fake celebrities.

Not a lot,a little base that will cover up some flaws to make her complexion smoother and prettier,blush on her cheeks and finish up with mascara and some may use a eyeliner to define her eyes more,women do not wear as much make up as men think they do.
