#1 The Book of Mormon - Another Witness of Jesus Christ.

Even if you are not into religion, it has adventure, intreague, history, observations of human nature and is mostly very exciting.

One little warning, There is a part in the section called Second Nephi where it is comparing some writings to Isaiah in the Old Testament that might get a bit confusing. Just plow through those pages and it really gets better soon.

You can get a free copy by going to www.lds.org and asking for more information.

If you are seeking a new church home, try this book and then go back to that same web site and ask for more information. They can direct you to a church in your community.

The Spenser series by Robert B Parker

I've read all of them... oh.. 5 times apiece at least. Each book is like hot chocolate in the winter or cool lemonade in the summer.. no matter how often you have it, it's a pleasure and a luxury.

Anything by Charles Dickens, Ernest Hemingway, or John Steinbeck

Great Expectations--Dickens
The Old Man and The Sea--Hemingway
A Tale Of Two Cities--Dickens
Of Mice and Men--John Steinbeck
A Farewell To Arms--Hemingway

All great books. I could recommend more, but you only asked for my top five. Hope you haven't read these, if you have let me know and I will recommend more.
